Château de la Redorte is located in the village of La Redorte in the heart of the French Languedoc-Roussillon region, famous for its Minervois, Cahors and Corbières wines and a short walk from the Canal du Midi on its meandering route from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic (or vice versa!).
The village of La Redorte is situated between the medieval cities of Carcassonne and Béziers, 30 minutes from Carcassonne, and 40 minutes from the Mediterranean coast. With easy access to the A61 motorway Château de La Redorte makes an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside, vineyards and pretty villages.
Access
La Redorte is easily accessible from most major airports in Europe into Carcassonne (28km), Béziers (57km), Perpignan (59 km), Montpellier (111km) and Girona (143 km).
There are also excellent TGV connections giving easy access to the Languedoc by rail.
In the Independent Traveller on 22 May it said: "Rail access from Paris Gare du Lyon is quick. Nîmes is about three hours away. The service from Paris to Montpellier's Saint-Roch station takes about 3 hours and 15 minutes. Béziers is accessible in just over 4 hours with Narbonne and Perpignan slightly longer...From 10 July to 11 September, a summer service of direct trains operates between St Pancras and Avignon-Centre, with easy connections to Languedoc-Roussillon". The nearest main line station to La Redorte (30km away) is Carcassonne. Shuttles will be available between the château and Carcassonne".
