The Languedoc has a varied landscape of lavender fields, vineyards and rolling limestone hills popular with walkers and cyclists.  Old market towns and thriving fishing villages hold regular fiestas and offer fine French cuisine.

There are several championship golf courses in the region, with horse-riding, tennis, fishing and white water rafting also available nearby. Beaches and water sports facilities can be found at Cap Leucate, while the ski resorts of the Pyrenees are around 100km drive away.
