Vale da Pinta when combined with its sister resort Gramacho boasts 36 holes of championship golf, a Golf Academy, two clubhouses with restaurants and bars, a supermarket, tennis, bowls, a beauty parlour and 24 hour security.

Planned for the near future are a further 36 holes, a five-star hotel, a full spa complex, another two clubhouses and a kids’ club.

The Vale da Pinta Championship Golf Course

The par 71 golf course at Vale da Pinta is respected for offering golfers of all standards a great game on a course of outstanding beauty. Eight-times consecutive host of the European Seniors Tour Qualifying Final, the course was designed by the famous American golf course architect Ronald Fream, and since its inauguration in 1992, has earned its place as one of the best-designed courses in Europe.

The course’s natural features are complemented by strategically placed sand bunkers and two ornamental lakes, set in a rolling terrain dotted with carob, fig, almond and olive trees, one of which is over 1200 years old.

Several of the par 4 and 5 holes are doglegs and need accurate drives.  The opening holes comprise three par 4’s, followed by a superb par 5 on the fourth hole, which requires an accurate drive to avoid the rough and the out-of-bounds sections on each side.

Other interesting holes include the par 3 fifth, with the green way below the tee, the par 4 thirteenth, which plays over a lake, and the par 5 final hole, which requires three long shots to the green.

The modern Pinta Clubhouse has a tranquil atmosphere, and offers a full range of services including a golf academy, club and buggy rental, changing rooms, reception, driving range, putting and chipping greens, buggy bar and pro shop, as well as a restaurant and bar.
