General Information
Offer available for stays between the 2nd of January 2010 and the 31st of May 2010 except Easter time, subject to availability. Total pre-payment required.  Cancellations made within 48 hours or less prior to arrival incur the full package charge. Prices not applicable for groups and cannot be cumulative with any other special offer.

Some ideas for your holiday:

• If you like seafood, head to Ericeira, one of our favourite seafood restaurants is “Furnas” –www.restfurnasericeira.com
• The par 72, 18 hole golf course was designed by Donald Steel, responsible for hundreds of top courses in 20 countries. The course is situated between two hills and was developed to ensure a hospitable and sustainable environment for the resort’s wildlife
• The Royal Palace and Convent at Mafra, built by command of João V (1689-1750), is a must to see. It has over 1,200 rooms and more than 50,000 workmen at the peak of building work. The sculptures, paintings and architecture are some of the finest in Europe (see www.imc-ip.pt)
• In Mafra, a lovely town, opposite the Convent are cafés and restaurants. The “O Brasão” on Travessa Manual Esteves, just off the square, is very friendly.
• If you like the beaches, try Peniche. Off the A8, the long sandy beach is behind the sand dunes. Park by the wooden walkways over the dunes and walk over them to find the beach. The coast is also full of lovely little beaches down steep cliff paths – ideal for surfing
• If you stay on site and want to eat at home, you can shop at the Antonio Vitor “supermercado” in Turcifal for general supplies, the excellent CampoReal delicatessen by the entrance gates, or visit nearby Torres Vedras for a large supermarket. (NB Turcifal is the nearest village – less than 5
  minutes from the resort and also has a 17th century church that is well worth a visit)
• There is also a superb Equestrian Centre on site. Cuca and Miguel, both highly experienced riders at dressage and showjumping, will look after you with lessons and riding out. In the Summer, weekly schools are run for children, including the chance to enter shows
• Relax at the “Di Vine” Spa in the Hotel. Considered to be one of the best in Europe it has breathtaking treatment rooms, relaxation rooms, fitness studio, sauna, Turkish bath and hairdresser, plus a private suite with a hydro-bath for two
• Be sure to treat yourself at the Grande Escolha restaurant – on the ground floor of the hotel - where head chef Marlene Vieira serves up the authentic food and drink of Portugal with a modern twist. The restaurant also features an intimate private dining area for special occasions
• The hotel’s Library Bar is an elegant bar for afternoon tea or the finest pre and post dinner drinks
